What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text documents, which frequently include an unidentified, exclusive text identifier. When a user visits a website, that site's main computer shall asks the users computer permission to store files in a part of its hard drive particularly designated for cookies. Every website can send its own cookies to a browser, if the browser preferences are set to allow it; however, a browser only permits a website to access the cookies it has already sent, not cookies sent by other sites. How information is used that is provided to us?
Generally speaking, Lexifone uses personal information for purposes of administering business activities, providing customer service and making available other items and services to customers and prospective customers.
Lexifone will not obtain personally-identifying information about its users when visiting the site, unless the user provides such information and such information shall never be sold or transferred to unaffiliated third parties without the approval of the user at the time of collection. However, Lexifone may disclose any information when legally compelled to do so, such as when the law requires such information to be disclosed within reason, or for the protection of the companies own legal rights.
How do we protect and secure information transmissions?
Email is not recognized as a secure medium of communication. For this reason, it's requested that users do not send private information via email; however, doing so is allowed, but at no risk to Lexifone, but at the users full responsibility and own risk.
Lexifone may use software programs to create summary statistics, which are used for such purposes as assessing the number of visitors to the different sections of its site, what information is of most and least significance, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas. For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, uses software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. Lexifone calls may be recorded for quality assurance reasons.
