Such an incredible memory Aunt Cissy got....and superb reading....it is like watching a video and one gets emotional!

I just want to thank Cissy Houston for this book, for sharing mostly all their family life, with us, esp. hers, and Whitney. Hearing about Whitney's growing up years it's like I was sharing her childhood being there as I envisioned her in the scene, the narrator was reading on I could just picture her happy face, because she just seemed like a naturally happy person. That scene where that coat hanger got caught in her throat was terrible, for her. I can imagine the excruciating pain she must have felt. I then thought that pain may have connected to her later success, because I have heard several people who had a trauma as a child, and later became successful, like Oprah, and Ivanya. For those who don't know God turns a bad thing, into a good thing. I really liked how Cissy was with Whitney, as she was taking those first baby steps, after signing with Clive, and how she made them change her wardrobe, because she wasn't trying to sell her body, she had a gift to sing. Loved that. I really just liked how she would talk to Whitney, to help her understand things that was puzzling her. She talked so well I thought she would have made a wonderful CEO record producer. It just seem like if Cissy could have stayed close by Whitney through all those years, a lot of those things just wouldn't have happened. But I realize Whitney wanted to be grown, and that's how I was, I would have sent my mom packing, and just let me make my own mistakes. And I made plenty, but a mama just have to cut the apron strings, and let the bird fly on their own. I'm enjoying this narrator reading this so much. This is about my 3rd day, just at 3:38:46. I listen as I work, get sleepy, and come back the next day. The last audiobook that engrossed me like this was Iceberg Slim, and it took me a week to finish. I am so impressed with Cissy's bookwriting skills. I don't know what it is about singers of the 60s, like Cissy, Tina, Ms.Robbie, not only could they sing, but was multitalented in other areas. They're sharp. Mrs. Cissy Houston I just want to tell you that you're a wonderful mother, and you did a beautiful job raising Whitney. You lost a daughter, and for many of us, we lost a friend. And Bobbie Kristina is like our little sister, so there's still sadness, within us, for them both, perhaps till we get a clear picture of what happened. It's just been too much shady dealings going on in Hollywood, that we don't fall for the okey dokey. Which is why we research, and listen to tapes about them, and some dots start getting connected. You're such a strong woman that God has equipped for this. You may be strong, but I still feel your pain, and I love you.✌🏽❤🙏🏻Rest in PARADISE Whitney Houston ❤Bobbie Kristina ✌🏽🌷🌲🎵

Whitney was so pretty, as a child, and the blossom never stopped blooming. She was one unique person. I'm not putting her on a pedestal, either, it's just there's something, about her we can learn from. Like she was sent for that reason. My heart was definitely with Cissy, at the funeral, as well as with Bobbi Kristina, but esp. with Cissy, the mother of this superstar. God reveals things to us, at a later time, at a sudden death like this that will give you a better perspective, to where you can, at least breath, a little better. Though that hole never fully closes, in your heart, completely. That's just something we all have to deal with, with loss of loved one, and all you can do to fill that void, is with good memories, and lots of prayer. It wasn't till a few years later, watching, The Houston, that it dawned on me the devastation this caused to the precious heart, of Bobbi Kristina, seeing her go through depression, off and on, depending on who she was around. But I did feel for her, imagining losing a superstar mama, like Whitney, who was also a very good person. I sure commend Cissy, for writing this book. I tell family who're grieving over a loss, one good way to deal with the pain is to just write all you remember about them. And you'll be surprised at how many good memories will come to you.✌🏽Rest in PARADISE Whitney Houston❤Bobbie Kristina ✌🏽❤🙏🏻
